A Chartered Builder, James is the fourth generation of the Taylor family to enter the building profession.
Following graduation from Salford University, where he studied Construction Management, James worked initially for Laing, and then for Laing O’Rourke, in a wide range of management roles, on large-scale projects for the education, health, hospitality, housing and defence sectors.

Bryan joined Edgar Taylor in 2006, as Contracts Manager. Sponsored by Alfred McAlpine, Bryan, too, studied Construction Management at Salford University, where he met James Taylor.
After graduating, Bryan spent a further 5 years at McAlpine before also joining Laing O’Rourke where he had the opportunity to hone his management skills on a wide range of large-scale projects in the public and private sectors before joining Edgar Taylor.
In addition to being responsible for the successful delivery of many of our projects, Bryan is actively involved in the recruitment of other young professionals with the management and technical skills to help the company achieve its business objectives.
Founding Director
Having spent his entire working life in the construction industry, Pat has accumulated a vast amount of experience and technical know-how, making him ideally qualified to head-up the family firm until passing the reins to his son, James, in the Spring of 2005.
Over the years, Pat has built up many of the long-standing client and supplier relationships the company enjoys to this day, and he continues to play an active role in the company’s development.

James and Bryan are supported by a strong team of highly experienced site managers and foremen, who in addition to bringing excellent trade skills to their respective projects, provide an on-site management service in support of our contracts management team.
James and Bryan’s commercial and contract management roles are supported by surveyors who bring a wealth of experience in estimating and post-contract surveying.
Liz Taylor and Angela Wall are responsible for office management and administration and the smooth running of our accounts.
